7 Books You Should Read in 2017

Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? I don’t tend to make any formal ones, but the end of one year and the beginning of the next always feels like a good time to take an inventory of my life and pinpoint where I want to improve. One thing I’m always striving to do is read more! Just in case you’re in the same boat, here are a few of my favorites.

Wreck My Life by Mo Isom – This book is an uncut, refreshingly honest testimony about how an All-American soccer star confronts and overcomes some of life’s most difficult tragedies. Perfect for high school and college age young women as well as more seasoned ladies.

The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey – Is 2017 your year to get your financial house in order? Total Money Makeover is an in-your-face, practical guide to attaining financial freedom.

Your Knight In Shining Armor by P.B. Wilson – Back in my single days, this book gave me life! It’s a must read for any woman seeking to honor God with her singleness.

Power of a Praying® Wife by Stormie Omartian – I got five copies (no kidding) of this book as wedding gifts. That was in 2005. I was rebellious and didn’t read it until 2015. Bad move.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey – This one is a classic. It gives valuable insight that will make you a more effective worker or manager in your home, workplace and beyond.

Into Abba’s Arms by Sandra D. Wilson – The older I get the more apparent it becomes that I got issues! Into Abba’s Arms does a great job of helping us unpack some of the emotional baggage we carry and gives biblical wisdom for how to lighten the load.

Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala – If your spiritual battery needs to be recharged, check out this book! It’s full of inspirational anecdotes to help position you on the path of God-centered living.

Have you read any of these books? What would you add to the list?
